How to get Paid on Upwork via PayPal or Direct to Local Bank

For this tutorial, I will show you how to withdraw your Upwork earnings using either your verified PayPal account or your local bank. I am from the Philippines, so I will be using banks here in the Philippines. So, without further ado, let's start.

This is a 2-part tutorial which includes the following:

• How to get paid on Upwork using Direct to Local Bank account
• and via verified PayPal account

Here are the steps on how to get paid on Upwork

Getting Paid via Direct to Local Bank

1. Open and login your Upwork account. Inside, click on your Profile photo. In the menu that will appear, click on Settings.

2. If you are prompted to enter your password and secondary password, just enter it to proceed. Assuming that you are inside, go to User Settings, below it, click Get Paid.

3. Under Get paid, find Payment details and click the Add Method button.

4. Under "Add a payment method" find the "Direct to local bank" option and click the Set Up button to proceed.

5. In the Bank Information which is the BRSTN Code (also bank code) type your designated bank code. You click the Find button to search for it, or you can also use Google search. When done, click Next.

6. In the "Account Holder Bank Information" enter your Account Number (16-digit number, this is not the card number). Leave the swift code blank. Enter your First and Last name on bank account. Then just re-enter your complete name in the Account Name.

7. In the Address, just enter your address, your city and state/province, and select your country. In the Phone number select first your country code and then enter the remaining number of your phone. Just check the check button to confirm that all the information you enter are correct, true and you are the one that really own the account. Click NEXT to proceed.

8. Inside Review, just review all your details. Just click the pencil button to edit your info if find some incorrect details. When done, press NEXT again.

9. Done! You just added your Direct to Local Bank as way of getting paid on your Upwork account. It will be activated after 3 days.

10. For additional setup, you can choose when to withdraw your money (see image below). When done, press NEXT to proceed.

11. For the "Set up payment schedule" you will need to pay $0.99 every time you withdraw your earnings to your local bank. Just add your preferred payment sched, and choose only when to withdraw your earnings.

12. Your Payment Method "Direct to local bank" set up is complete.

Getting Paid via verified PayPal account

1. Open and login your Upwork account. Inside, click your Profile picture. In the menu that will appear, click on Settings.

2. When prompted to enter your account password and secondary password, just enter it to proceed. Assuming that you are inside Settings, find User Settings and click on Getting paid.

3. Inside Get paid, go to Payment details and click Add Method button.

4. Find PayPal under "Also Available" and press Set Up.

5. Just press Continue in the "You are about to leave Upwork."

6. Type your PayPal email address and press Next to proceed.

7. Now, type your PayPal password and press Log In to continue.

8. Just press "Agree and Connect" button in the "Connect your PayPal account to Upwork Payments Page" to proceed.

9. Wait for the verification to end.

10. Done! Your PayPal account has been added as Payment method on your Upwork account.

11. You will see a notification regarding this payment method added.

12. For additional setup, it is up on your personal choice. Just take note that PayPal charges $2.00 for every successful transaction that you have made compared to bank which is only $0.99.

13. Your Upwork payment method is now ready.
