How to switch Gmail Back to Classic View
For this tutorial I will show you how to easily switch back your Gmail account to a simple, single tab, and plain HTML view. You can do this in two ways and that is what I am going to show you for this post.
The plain HTML view of Gmail is way more faster to load and the functionality is just the same as the latest one. And to be honest, I am still using this until now. So, without further introduction, let's start.
Here are the steps on how to switch back latest Gmail to Classic or plain HTML view
Switching to plain HTML view by clicking the "Load basic HTML" link
1. Open your Gmail, and while it is loading, click on the "Load basic HTML" link that you will see at the lower-right corner of your pc screen.

2. You are now inside your Gmail account in basic HTML view.

3. It is like the Classic view (in the early days of Gmail) as you can see on the image below.

4. To save HTML view of your Gmail, just click the "Set basic HTML as default view".

5. You will then see a message "Your preferences have been saved."

If your internet connection is too fast and you cannot click the link on the tutorial above, you can do the tutorial below.
Switching to plain HTML view by modifying Gmail URL
1. Just normally load your Gmail account. When done, edit the URL.

2. Change the URL to https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0/h/ and press ENTER.

3. You will be asked if you really want to use HTML Gmail. Just press "I want to use HTML Gmail" to confirm.

4. Done! You are now viewing your Gmail account in basic HTML.

Switching back from plain HTML view to standard or latest Gmail
1. If you want to switch back to the latest or standard Gmail view, you can just click the link located below your screen. Click on "standard" and you will be back to latest Gmail.

Can I activate Gmail basic HTML view on my mobile phone? YES! But not recommended.
1. To be able to open classic Gmail on phone, you need to use your web browser app and the Gmail app. Because, only on the browser you can edit the Gmail URL.
2. Just open your Chrome, then type mail.google.com in the address bar and press ENTER. Then, you will see the image below. Click the "Use the web version" so that you will open Gmail in Chrome and not the Gmail app.

3. When Gmail is completely loaded, edit your Gmail URL (same as the given steps above) and press ENTER.
As U have stated above, it is not recommended to use this trick on mobile phone because Gmail app is good enough to use. This tutorial is recommended for pc users.
