FIX: Google Chrome app download failed on android

If you are downloading a file on your Chrome app and you can't download it because it always says "failed", then, that could be irritating. And for this post, I will show you how to easily solve or fix this Google Chrome app download failed issue.

The main reason that this happened to me is because, I changed the download location of all the files that I will be downloading using Chrome into my new bought SD card. The issue is that, my android phone will first recognize the SD card and then after awhile it won't read it at all. And that's the time that when I started downloading a file using Chrome, it won't allow me to do so.

So, it is very clear now that the fix is just to reset the download location of the app to its default one or your phone's internal storage. Or, if you still want to make your SD card as the main download path for all your downloads, then, consider reformatting your SD card or buy a new one. But try doing the fix given on the tutorial below first.

Here are the steps on how to fix Google Chrome app download failed on your android phone

1. While trying to download a file your Chrome, you will see that it is a total failure on the image below. Close your download for now.

2. Still inside your Chrome app, tap on the 3 dots.

3. In the menu that will appear, press Settings.

4. Inside Settings, find and press Downloads.

5. Now, inside Downloads, tap on Download location.

6. In the Download location, change SD card to Downloads.

7. Restart your download and you will be able to download your file now.

Note: If this fix still won't allow you download your file, then maybe downloading file is blocked. Check your internet connection also. And lastly, the file you are downloading is blocked by your antivirus. There are various reasons why your download is failing and you can try any of the given tips I stated on this tutorial.
