How to Uninstall Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime Windows 11

For this post I will show you how to easily remove or uninstall Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime in your Windows 11 pc. You won't be able to uninstall it using Add/Remove Programs inside Control Panel because the only option that you will find there is "Change".

But what is Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime first? According to WindowsReport.com:

• WebView2 is utilized by Microsoft in order to offer users of Outlook capabilities that are consistent across all supported platforms.
• It is automatically installed on any computer that uses Microsoft 365, however, if you are missing it, there is a way to acquire the program.
• By uninstalling WebView2 you will free up more than 475 MB of disk space and between 50 and 60 MB of RAM.

So I think personally, that uninstalling Webview2 Runtime is a good idea after all because it will free up over 500 disk space (upon checking it myself) and 50 to 60 RAM. Well, let's start this tutorial now.

Here are the steps on how to uninstall Microsoft Edge Webview2 Runtime in your Windows 11 pc

1. First, you need to download and install the Uninstall Tool 3.5.10. Download the file here.

2. Assuming that you are done with STEP 1, open Uninstall Tool. Make sure you are inside the Uninstaller tab. In the list of Programs find Microsoft Edge Webview2 Runtime.

3. Right-click on it and press Force Removal.

4. Uninstall Tool will confirm if you really want to remove Webview2 Runtime. Just press YES to confirm.

5. Uninstall Tool will detect all associated files and registry items with Webvie2 Runtime. Press Finish to confirm removal of these traces too.

6. It will also detect all running processes related to Webview2 Runtime. Press Yes to terminate this processes and start uninstalling the program.

7. Wait for some time until the uninstallation is done. Just click the Close button to exit.

Done! You have completely removed Microsoft Edge Webview2 Runtime in your Windows 11 pc.
